‘Nigerian Rappers Don’t HaveSwagger’- Majek Fashek

Troubled reggae icon Majek Fashek
thinks Nigerian rappers lack the
'swag' to go along with their skills.
While admitting Nigerians can
actually rap, Majek says, in an
exclusive interview with Nigerian
Entertainment Today, that their
American counterparts are light
years ahead of them. 'You know you
can't compare American rap with
Nigerian rap. Nigerians can rap but
they don't have the swagger of the
Americans'
In recent times, it turns out that one
of the most used words in Nigerian
music has been the word 'swagger';
with 'swag' becoming the SI Unit for
measuring images and persona.
But the legendary musician, who's
going through some of the most
difficult times of his life and career
thinks Nigerian rappers hardly have
it.
Sauce Kid, M.I, Ice Prince, Mode 9,
Naeto C are you reading this?
Meanwhile Fashek also says his son
has been signed by US rapper Lil'
Wayne (we could not immediately
confirm this from Wayne's camp).
We forgot to ask though: when
would be a good time for homeboys
to come over for 'Swagger 101'?
